Once again I got a chance to see the wonderful calming powers of my essential oils. Not that I needed proof after 13 years of using these precious oils, but I will say that these experiences were pretty dramatic, consistent and quite wonderful. On the first leg of my journey while the plane was sitting on the tarmac waiting for take off, two guys sitting behind me were getting pretty rowdy. Acting more like young teenagers, they were beginning to bounce around in their seats, kicking my seat, you get the picture.

I pulled out my oils and wiped on a good dose of White Angelica all over my head, neck shoulders, torso, arms and legs. I followed this with Peace & Calming on the back of my neck and took some deep inhales. I noticed a few minutes later that they guys were silent, and there had been no movement, at all, for awhile. I applied the White Angelica? because I wanted a sense of protection and help not being so annoyed at having my seat kicked, by a very large and long legged “kid!” One the 2nd leg of my journey, we ended up sitting in the plane for 4 hours BEFORE taking off! Everyone was restless after the 1st time we went back to the terminal, including the 2 & 4 year old sitting in front of me. I was so grateful to have my oils with me!

I used Valor for calming, grounding and balancing myself, since I was a bit antsy. I followed with applying Peace & Calming and White Angelica. Within a few minutes, I noticed that the kids had settled down, and so had I! Throughout the 4 hours of sitting and waiting, and then the 2 hours in the air, the kids stirred quite a number of times. Can you imagine keeping a 2 year old strapped in his seat for 6 hours.

Each time they even began to increase their volume, I pulled out my oils and used them. Each time I settled down and so did the kids. It was really remarkable! By applying the oils to myself, the aroma seemed to help others find peace and calming.

Traveling in today’s economic times is hard enough, but when you factor in that many parents are traveling with children it becomes even more of a challenge. I know that many times when I travel with my children I hear the ominous words coming from the back seat of are we their yet. I know that many kids will utter this phrase over time and many parents will say not yet in reply. Yes, they might be old and according to some kids because they do not have video games boring, but they normally have something for kids and adults of all ages to enjoy. Not only that the national parks will normally mean you will be outside enjoying time with each other and nature as a family.

2 Presidents Houses

This might not be such a typical stop that you would consider a whole vacation on, but they can be fun if your children like history at all or are learning about the presidents. However, most of the presidents homes are located near or around other large attractions which you can then base an entire vacation in that city.

3 Historical Towns

I know that some children will enjoy seeing how people lives many years ago. This is particularly true if the area that you are traveling to has people involved that educate you and your children at the same time. I know that for me my kids love learning more about the history when people are around that can teach them why they did stuff the way that they did.

While many parents will be traveling with kids this year and for years to come they might run out of ideas of where to travel to.
