Depending on whether you like tropical places, or rainy locations, or camping, or hiking, there are so many options to choose from. Below are ten places throughout the world that may be exciting and interesting to visit.
1. Costa Rica
If bird watching is something that you would like to experience, Costa Rica is a must for your top ten travel destinations list. In 2009, Costa Rica obtained a new birding route and it has over 500 bird species. With all these birds, it is important that you remember either your favorite birding binocular or, at a minimum, your compact travel binocular or monocular. The landscape is a must-see for naturalists. With its rainforest canopies, tropical biological research facilities, and family – fun reserves, this place is incredible.
2. Seoul
The capital of South Korea is known for its glamorous cafes, glorious galleries, and great fashion. As of 2010, it was referred to as the World Design Capital. If you are interested in art and fashion, and glamorous scenery is your motivation for travel, this would be a great place to visit. It’s also renowned for cultural and shopping opportunities and you can take advantage of low prices for SLR cameras and lenses, for example, during the day while attending cultural performances during the evening. 3. Sri Lanka

For more than two decades Sri Lanka experienced low tourism, as the country was plagued by a civil war. But, with civil peace, the natural beauty has once again become evident. Whether you want to see gorgeous beaches near seaside villages, or monkeys swinging from trees; this is the place to be.
4. Copenhagen
If you are trying to go green, Copenhagen may be a good place to include in your top ten travel destinations list. Copenhagen residents have bicycles paths around the city and tourists can ride free bikes, revealing the attitude behind why this city is known as a very “green” place. Scandinavia has historically been a conscientious steward of its ecology without being strident about it and you’ll enjoy the easy-going atmosphere.
5. Antarctica
This continent should definitely be one of your top ten travel destinations. The tourist boom is posing a threat to the environment, so it is important to visit before the continent is closed to more casual visitors. If you want to view some amazing landscape, and have first class access to views of some of the world’s last remaining glaciers, then Antarctica is a must. If you’re interested in sharing awe-inspiring vacation pictures when you return, you can’t go wrong with the rare beauty of Antarctica.
6. Shanghai
China is an interesting place to visit. If you want to travel through Shanghai, then you can always use the Maglev, which is a train that can reach speeds of 430 km/hr. Getting to see this city, and what it is has to offer definitely earns this place a spot on the top ten travel destinations. Whether you want to see museums that showcase 5,000 years of history, enjoy the delicious soup dumpling that they have to offer, or experience massage with yoga, or Chinese acupressure, then Shanghai is a travel destination worth exploring.
7. Los Angeles
Los Angeles, California, is a city that many people have heard a variety of things about. For those who desire to explore museums, or go shopping in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles is the place for it. For those of us who have long aspired to meet someone famous, spending a day in Los Angeles is the one of the better things you can do to change your luck. You can also check out Venice beach if you want a more tropical setting, or Disneyland or Universal Studios if you are with the kids. Whatever the case, Los Angeles is a magnificent place to include as one of the top ten travel destinations.
8. Leipzig
If you want to visit a cultural destination, then Leipzig should be a destination to consider as part of your top ten travel destinations. With the numerous museums, you will be able to learn about German cultures and ways of life. The glorious churches, the magnificent buildings, and the parks and gardens make this city even more glamorous to explore. If you are a true history buff, then the Battle of Leipzig Monument may be a nice review. If visiting with a family, then the Leipzig Zoo will be a delightful destination. Whatever your interest, this is a nice German city that may be interesting and stimulating culturally.

These luxurious islands in Thailand are for outdoorsy people who enjoy nature. Since more than half of Koh Kood is covered by tropical rainforests, and the seas offer crystal clear water accompanied by beautiful beaches, this is a tropical paradise. Whether you want to snorkel or scuba dive in the sparkling seas, or view the beautiful imagery of the sunset, or waterfalls, this island can be a breathtaking experience for beach lovers everywhere. Have you ever wondered about the legendary Bollywood? You’ll want to include Mumbai in your list of the top ten travel destinations and here’s why. Mumbai is the capital of the film industry in India, and if you choose to visit this destination, you will get to indulge in some of the culture that goes along with this domain. In this dynamic city, you can even see the Taj Mahal resort, which is a must for history enthusiasts. If that’s not your area of interest, then there are always museums and art galleries to free your creative side. If you want to go shopping for the day, then there are a plethora of markets where you can shop for just about anything. How about visiting the famous tourist spot known as Powai Lake? This is a famous spot that attracts people from all over the world. But beware; the rumor is that the lake is infested with Crocodiles.

Holistic Holidays and retreats are becoming a popular way to have a real break which allows you to rest, reflect and recuperate from the pressures of 21st century life.
Holiday Programme:You probably want to start by considering what sort of retreat you want. Do you want to be able to fill your time learning new information or skills through a vaiety of workshops? Would you rather sit in the sun and do your own thing? Or would you prefer a mixture of both, perhaps one or two optional group sessions with lots of free time to relax, sunbathe, swim or pamper yourself with additional therapies.
Location:Do you want to be beside the sea or would a quiet mountain location be preferable? Do you want a self contained complex or would you enjoy the freedom to go for walks into nature or into a nearby village.
Accomodation:What standard of accomodation would you be happy with? Some places offer luxurious 4 star accomodation whilst others offer much more basic rooms with communal fascilites. Are you prepared to share? In our experience, many new and lasting friendships are made through room sharing on these types of holidays.
Group Size:On some holistic holidays you may be joining a group of up to 80 people whilst at the other end of the spectrum you may be one of only six. What sort of group size would you prefer? Small groups offer the advantage of being able to get to know everybody well over the course of a week whilst large groups offer the ability to avoid people with whom you just don’t get on. When we first went on this type of holiday we deliberately chose a big group for this very reason but now we find that small groups are preferable.
Holiday Themes:The bigger holistic centres often offer multiple workshops on numerous themes including physical activities such as sailing, windsurfing or walking whilst others focus on one theme for the whole week. Be aware that the ones which offer the wides choice with multiple activities every day can, unless you are very single minded and decisive, lead to the same sort of rushing around, stress and choice fatigue that you are trying to avoid in the first place.
Conclusion:As long as you think through what you want in advance and ask apropriate questions, you will have a wonderful holiday that will leave you feeling happy healthy and ready to re engage with the “real world”.

Heading even further up north now we have Te Urewera National Park, which is remote, rugged, immense and known for its beautiful lakes as well as a fascinating history. The name ‘Te Urewera’ pays homage to its Maori history, and takes its translation from the roots of Tuhoe (local Maori tribe) to Hine Pukohurangi (the mist maiden) and Te Maunga (the mountain) which explains why Tuhoeare known as the ‘children of the mist’. Do a bit of sightseeing around the lake, go kayaking of boating or just take in the ambience of this majestic place.
For the experience of a wild lowland forest, head to Whanganui National Park, which is home to an abundance of tramping tracks that weave through the parks daunting forest and down to the powerful Whanganui River, a place steeped in history and culture? This place was an important part of Maori culture, and home to many defensive forts, now it is used for enjoyment and an array of watersports such as water skiing, jet boating and kayaking.

Just like planning a vacation requires you to pack all the “must haves” for an enjoyable trip, traveling with your dog also means you
have to put some extra effort into ensuring that your four-legged friend is safe, secure, and satisfied – otherwise your plans could end up in the dog house before you ever hit the road! With that in mind, here are four travel necessities you’ll need to keep in mind when packing for your pooch!
Obviously, first on your list should be plenty of food and water. There’s just one problem: Have you ever tried to open a bag full of kibble with a car full of dogs? Chances are, an avalanche of pieces spill onto the floor, pour into the seat cushions and everywhere else – giving your dog free license to poke his nose and paws all over your car upholstery, while the unfound pieces remain hidden and your car smells like stale dog food for months.
Instead, get an oversized “kibble pouch” with a velcro strap that keeps contents closed when not in use, but is easy to open when you need to feed those hungry mouths. If it can store a fairly large sized water bottle – even better. That way, all your dogs feeding needs are in a single, tight compartment.
Then, of course, you need a dish to store it in. If you’re traveling with several dogs, you know that they take up a LOT of room – so the more space you can save, the better! A foldable food and water dish is ideal in this case – and having both items in one compact design makes it easy to clean and easy to pack.
And of course, not every dog is fully accustomed to riding in a car or being in an unfamiliar place. To deter unwanted behavior, you can help your dog be more relaxed and comfortable with his favorite treats. A familiar toy, a favorite snack or some item from “home” can settle the less-traveled pooch.
Plus, since dogs and cars don’t always go together, the more you can do to help prevent car ride digestive upsets, the better. Avoid giving your dog any treats that are artificially colored or are loaded with preservatives, as these kinds of foods are just as bad for dogs as they are for people! And many dogs can develop allergic reactions to the chemicals and preservatives in treats – making them miserable for the long haul. If the treats are any color other than white or brown – they have food coloring added which can also cause upsets. Instead, opt for natural, fresh-baked, treats for the trip that have no coloring or preservatives added. Your dog’s tummy will thank you!
